SEO Team Lead

The Role

An SEO Team Lead will contribute to Gentoo Media’s mission of growing and developing its online gambling affiliate business by overseeing and managing the operational and SEO aspects of running its entire portfolio of websites. SEO Team Leads will be tasked with creating strategies in collaboration with the content team, with a view to realizing the strategic objectives of the Publishing department, i.e. defending, growing and diversifying the business, as they relate to content, SEO, human resources, processes, and procedures. Furthermore, the SEO Team Lead will be the key person in charge of the training, developing, and motivating their team. Additional responsibilities include day to day people management and development, communication and collaboration with other stakeholders such as sales, product and dev team, as well as continuous optimisation of Gentoo Media P&L in collaboration with the rest of management in Gentoo Media. The SEO Team Lead will be reporting directly to the Head of SEO.

Responsibilities

• Lead their team to define and implement on-page and off-page SEO strategies for each website under their supervision
• Perform regular SEO audits and provide recommendations based on those findings.
• Assist and train their team and  to review content to ensure that all content follows guidelines and is aligned with standards and guidelines provided by Head of Publishing and Head of SEO.
• Initiate and oversee the launch of new projects, websites and/or website languages with the aim of contributing to the diversification of our business
• Proactively work with the Head of Publishing,  the Heads of SEO and Head of Outreach to discuss recommendations  to be implemented across all websites and offsite SEO requirements
• Collaborate with the HR team to work on career development plans for all their team members
• Work closely with the Talent Acquisition and HR teams to execute the hiring plan and solve issues related to underperforming team members, this also includes holding annual reviews for all team members
• Attend monthly meetings for all units assigned to them, and assist team members in creating slidedeck 
• Suggest improvements in processes and productivity optimisation
• Hold knowledge sharing sessions within their team and actively participate in other training and development opportunities
• Actively work on developing their leadership and people management skills both independently and as part of courses and/or events organized by the company

Technical responsibilities

• Ensure that all necessary SEO and content checks are performed prior to website launches or redesigns and potential issues are fixed before going live
• Monitor and report to the Head of SEO  and the wider management team on the status of traffic and rankings for all websites, as well as on the progress made with achieving our strategic objectives
• Ensure that our websites meet the latest compliance requirements stipulated by our partners and regulatory bodies and oversee all required updates

Requirements

• At least 4  years+ experience of working  within SEO
• Experience of working within the online gaming industry is considered an advantage
• Advanced understanding of technology and how it impacts SEO and Content Marketing
• German fluency is considered an asset
• Strong analytical skills and attention to details
• Experienced in monitoring team performances, and providing feedback
• Strong problem solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Keeping up to date with all the latest changes in their markets and in the wider gambling industry and Google Search updates
• Strong organizational skills
